Ocean Inspired Wall Art

Amborela’s new art collection portrays life in the ocean with sandy textures, pearlescent finishes, and a muted color palette.

Textures of the Ocean

Amborela’s sculpted and imapsto textures now feature life in the ocean. The core of this new collection of artwork is available here at Amborela. But you can find more designs in Amborela’s Etsy shop.

Close up of texture on small starfish painting

Giant starfish are textured with beaded dots in a sandy medium. The texture is pearlescent white that subtly shimmers in the light.

Pearlescent shells are hand-sculpted in thick acrylic paints for a 3d effect on this ocean scene.

This minimalist painting uses texture to create the beach scene. Glass bugle beads are embedded into these hand-sculpted sand dollars. The gray sandy beach goes alongside the light blue water with white flake texture.

Sculpted clams in pearlescent white glimmer among the coral filled waters in this ocean scene. Textured coral is gilded with a metallic silver paint.

My obsession for things that live on land is clear in the abundance of floral themes at Amborela. But in 2021 I began testing the waters in sculpting life in the air and water. Sculpting feathers and birds was a big challenge in 2021. Now in 2022 I’m seeing what I can do with water themes. This collection of artwork focuses on the ocean. Coming next will be life in rivers and streams.

Art for Common Spaces in a Home

When planning a collection of artwork, the artist Bethany Ogle considers where the paintings will hang in a home.  Which canvas size will fit above common furniture in a bedroom, dining room or home office? How can art brighten a small space or fill a big open space

This single canvas is 36″W x 24″ H for a focal point in a dining room or open concept living area. This design can be adapted to a split canvas to fit a 62″W x 24″H space if you have a larger dining room table the art will hang above.

These little paintings can be mixed and matched to fit a small narrow entryway.  Each canvas is only 10″W x 10″H but is big on texture.

If you’ve squeezed in a small desk in your home to work remotely, a 32″W x 20″H painting can create a focal point above your workspace.

Made for different needs in a guest room, this painting is adaptable to hang together as a focal point or separately as accent art. As a 33″W x 20″H diptych it fits above a twin size bed. The split canvases are each 16″W x 20″H

Compare canvas sizes that fit above standard nursery crib, changing table, and dressers.

Compare canvas sizes that fit above common bedroom furniture. Includes dressers and twin, full/queen, and king size beds.

Compare canvas sizes that fit above student desk, office desk, and filing cabinet. From huge corporate art to tiny art for cubicle décor.

I am the artist creating the nature inspired paintings and surface patterns at Amborela. When I'm not in my studio, I am working in my garden with the flowers that inspire my artwork. I ooh and aah at beautiful colors and interesting textures.
