These diagrams show which canvas sizes at Amborela look best above common nursery furniture. Of course, there are far more scenarios in a nursery setting where you could hang artwork. If you have a unique situation, I recommend cutting the canvas size your considering from craft paper. Then tape the paper to your wall so you can visualize how the wall art will actually look in your nursery.
The diagrams below show the recommended canvas size for a focal point in your little one’s nursery. Other sizes shown are good fits that are in still in proportion to nursery furniture.
If you’re choosing art for your nursery’s focal piece, you want to make a big statement. But a bigger canvas size isn’t better if it’s wider than the furniture it hangs above. To keep you focal art in proportion with surroundings, the canvas width should be slightly smaller than the width of your crib, changing table, or dresser. For example, a standard 54″ W crib needs a 50″ W painting as a focal point. A crib with an attached changing table on the side would look in proportion with a 62″ W painting.
Nursery accent art can be as small as half the width of the furniture the art hangs above. For example a 32″ W changing table could look good with a 16″ W accent painting.
A wide dresser in your nursery could work with either a focal artwork or an accent piece. Often when wallpaper is used as the focal point behind a crib, the dresser then becomes the place to hang a focal painting.
If you find an Amborela painting you love, but it doesn’t fit your nursery space, ask for a size quote on a custom painting. I can adapt most artworks at Amborela to a different canvas size and layout. You can see the canvas size options on the size chart.
